River Cottage

River Cottage is a 10-minute drive from Lyme Regis, but the unique culinary experience is certainly worth the journey! Book to join one of their regular Friday and Saturday night feasts, or perhaps a delicious Sunday Lunch, in their 18th Century barn. The whole evening is completely different from your usual restaurant, from the tractor ride up and down the hill, followed by canopies in their yurt, all the way to the meal itself. The Head Chef himself will tell the story of the four courses, which change throughout the year depending on what has been foraged, caught or grown on the farm (or by neighbouring farms) that day. Meanwhile, the long communal tables create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to appreciate Dorset’s incredible produce!

Hix Oyster & Fish House

Located within throwing distance of the sea, overlooking Lyme Regis’ historic fishing port, Hix Oyster & Fish House has an almost unbeatable location. Being so close to the water, it’s no surprise that they serve only the freshest seafood, cooked simply so that the flavours speak for themselves. The restaurant is owned by celebrated chef, restaurateur and food writer Mark Hix, and the menu changes regularly to feature the most recent catch, accompanied with a small selection of delicious house dishes. But whether you go for lobster and chips or oysters with champagne, every meal is made special by the spectacular view from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
